Playing picture puzzles with family and friends

Simple ways to compare scores, take turns and enjoy the same challenge together.

Decide how you want to play

For a cooperative game, put one device where everyone can see it and agree that each person describes a detail before someone taps it. For a friendly comparison, open the same challenge on separate devices. The game stores progress in each browser, so a shared device normally has one shared set of answers. Separate browser profiles or separate devices keep individual attempts apart.

Keep the rules consistent

Before comparing scores, agree whether hints are allowed and whether you will reveal answers. Hints help locate a change but still require a tap. Revealing answers stops that picture from earning additional points. The final score includes the number of fully solved pictures and the total differences found; those measure different things. Someone can find many differences without finishing every picture perfectly.

Take turns without rushing

Let each player choose a section to inspect. One person might compare the background, another the character’s outfit and another the objects near the floor. Rotate those roles in the next picture. There is no timer, so younger and older players can work at the same pace. Use the enlarged view when a detail is too small, and allow anyone to skip a round they find frustrating.

Discuss the explanation

After a round, read the answer explanation together. Ask which change was easy to notice and which needed a closer comparison. For example, the fairy’s excavator track is a broad colour change, while a missing guitar pin in the library is a much smaller detail. Describing those differences makes the discussion more interesting than simply announcing who got the highest score.

Share a clean starting link

The results page has Facebook, WhatsApp and Challenge a friend options. These share the challenge’s starting page, not your browser’s private progress cookie. Your friend plays with their own saved progress. Sharing is optional: there is no prize, entry fee or requirement to send the link to a set number of people. If you use the same device for another player, choose Play again from the beginning first.
