Playing without an account

You do not need to provide a name, email address or payment information to play. We use a first-party cookie named tye_session containing a random identifier to associate this browser with its saved puzzle progress. The cookie lasts up to 30 days and is not an advertising identifier.

Saved progress

Our server stores the challenge and picture identifiers, marked answers, completion status, whether answers were revealed and an update time against the random session identifier. This lets you continue in the same browser. Starting a challenge again clears that challenge’s saved answers. Clearing browser cookies disconnects your browser from the old progress; it does not by itself delete the old server record.

Hosting and technical information

Our website uses Cloudflare infrastructure for hosting, progress storage and uploaded images. Requests necessarily include technical information such as an IP address and browser request headers. Hosting and security services may process this information to deliver pages, protect the service and diagnose errors. We do not use the progress cookie to build an advertising profile. Technical logs and stored progress are not public.

Advertising status

Google AdSense and AdsKeeper advertising are not currently enabled on this website. We will update this policy and provide the required privacy controls before activating advertising.

If Google advertising is enabled

Google and other advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to serve and measure advertisements. Where permitted and selected, advertising cookies may support personalised ads based on visits to this and other websites. Details of Google’s practices are available at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Google’s My Ad Center provides advertising choices. This section describes a future advertising feature, not tracking that is currently active.

Sharing and contacting us

Facebook and WhatsApp links open those services when you choose to use them. The shared challenge URL does not include your session cookie or private progress record. Those services have their own privacy policies. If you contact us on WhatsApp, we receive your message and the contact details WhatsApp makes visible; we use them to handle your request.

Your choices and requests

You may reset a challenge, clear this site’s cookies or choose not to use the sharing and contact links. For a privacy question or a request concerning a message you sent, use our contact page. Do not send sensitive information. We cannot identify an anonymous progress record from your name alone.
